The assassination of a leftist deputy is choreographed by the state and then deconstructed by a magistrate who refuses the official silence. The film's percussive Theodorakis score, composed by a man imprisoned for his own songs, becomes the formal equivalent of a banned anthem hummed under the breath of a junta.

The series traces how popular ballads, narcocorridos and street rumors built Escobar into a folk antagonist of the state, then dismantled him through the same channels. It functions as a counter-anthem study: the way a country composes, distributes and finally retracts the songs it sings about its violent men.

The work treats secret transmission of skill as the same gesture as smuggling a banned song across a border.
