Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives
Apichatpong Weerasethakul · 2010
Weerasethakul stages dying as an ecological event in which ghosts, monkey spirits, and remembered selves arrive without ceremony at a forest farmhouse. The film treats the threshold between bodies and lifetimes as porous in exactly Konaka's sense, where the rural landscape itself functions as a kind of recording medium for what cannot be cleanly mourned.
